Paris-Je T’aime!

After our wonderful time in Montepulciano, we flew to Paris, my favorite city in the world. This is my ninth visit to the City of Light, and my time here never feels long enough.

When I am here I love using my rusty French, and most of the time the kind French smile and answer in English or slow French. Today, in one of the stores, a clerk asked me if I was Spanish. Think I need to work on my accent.

Views From The Top

Today we spent a lovely day strolling the beautiful Paris streets. Beauty is part of everyday life in Paris and woven into the smallest details. I think that is why a simple Paris walk feels like a feast for the eyes and the soul.

We visited two iconic Paris department stores, Printemps and Galleries Lafayette, for the roof top views and beautiful architectural features.

Printemps’ Art Nouveau golden rooftop structures are a Paris landmark.

With its central glass dome and ornate balconies, Galleries Lafayette is so beautiful on the inside that it seemed more people were sightseeing than shopping.

Dinner With A Dear Friend

After a beautiful day wandering the Paris streets, we met our friend Moira for dinner. I met Moira in 2013 through a mutual friend when we were in Paris for a month. Seeing her on each of our visits is always a highlight.

Because we had a little trouble with metro stops on our way to meet her, we decided to walk home. It was a beautiful night, and we got to enjoy more Paris enchantment.

I especially loved walking across the Seine and seeing the Eiffel Tower.
